Cairns Brass is excited to be presenting their much anticipated annual concert Brass Sweat and Tears 2018 in August. This year Cairns Brass is pleased to have as our musical director Mr Owen Clarke. Owen has had a distinguished career as the Director of Music of the Royal New Zealand Air Force and Navy Bands, and as conductor of professional, amateur, tertiary and youth level bands, orchestras and ensembles in both Australia and New Zealand.

Cairns Brass, four times and current National B Grade brass band Champions, is well known for its memorable concerts staged over the last 15 years, and this year they will not disappoint.

Cairns Brass is joined by the internationally renowned Best of Brass, one of Australia's busiest and most versatile brass quintets. Drawing on experience of its members, who have performed on many of the major concert stages of the world, Best of Brass will present works for brass quintet that will delight the audience with their virtuosity and musicality.

Building on Best of Brass's inputs, this years concert will focus on Stage and Screen.

The Cairns Brass Junior and Youth Bands, both State Championship level bands, will also be featured playing outside the venue from 6pm.
